scuba diving, research and volunteer work in marine related areas.
Giordana believes that these activities continuously stimulate her
to learn and study more about the marine environment while developing
a strong awareness for this environment and its associated challenges.
Career aspirations:
Working
in tropical areas of Australia as a vital link between researchers
and the tourism industry to protect this special environment. Her
strong interest in marine studies already brought her together with
postgrads from Sydney University and learning from them about different
research techniques and study sites. She also assists in teaching
scuba diving and informing divers about the marine biology of their
local area.
Reasons for interest in the Tropical Marine Science Program:
The
courses provide practical work and are an excellent opportunity for
'hands on' experience in marine studies.
